Thirty years ago today a misogynist walked into École Polytechnique in Montréal and shot 14 women dead because he hated feminists. It was the worst mass shooting in Canadian history. These women were:
On December 6, 1989, I was a teenager living in Germany and doubt I would have heard about the tragedy if it had not been for my mother, a feminist, who was very saddened. One of the main reasons I am writing this book is because of the pandemic of violence against women. On this day in particular I remember these victims. I hope my book will help make the world a safer place for women and girls.
