Yesterday I analysed Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), which made over US$215 million at the worldwide box office, and is not short on material for my book. It is full of examples of things I point out about mainstream movies. Although my main focus is movies of the 21st century I've included dozens of movies from the 20th century for comparative purposes. Some of the actors from Dracula--the original title--are still fairly active today (i.e. Monica Bellucci, Gary Oldman, Keanu Reeves and Anthony Hopkins).
My book is now 665 pages long. The movie index alone is over six pages. I'm starting to think I may need to turn this into two books. Hopefully the editing process will make it more manageable. © 2018 Alline Cormier

This morning I noticed that my book is now 650 long and that the movie index alone is six pages long! I had originally hoped to be finished by Christmas 2017, but health problems slowed progress to a near standstill for quite a while. Now I am aiming for late Spring. With everything that happened in 2017 this really is the best time for my book to hit bookshelves. Indeed, I feel like I'm in a race against the clock. I can't wait to share it with you--and see it in print, naturally, as opposed to a very large document on my computer. I've poured so much time, energy and research into it--over two years now--and I think you're going to find it to be an especially interesting read. After all, it's got so many of the things we can't tear ourselves away from.
Here's to peace, love, joy and finishing books in 2018! © 2018 Alline Cormier |
