Netflix appears to be scared of strong, independent women who stand up to men. Today I searched Katharine Hepburn (for Adam's Rib, 1949, and Woman of the Year, 1942), Julie Andrews, Nora Ephron and The First Wives Club (1996) and came up empty handed, unless you count the Shrek franchise for Julie Andrews--but I don't. I've searched for Thelma & Louise (1991) in the past and been unsuccessful there, too. It's a small consolation that 9 to 5 is available, and my guess is that has something to do with Dolly Parton's famous cleavage. However, if you're interested in movies in which women are objectified and sexualized Netflix has scores of movies for you.
